About Ancestrify

The science we build on
Ancestrify is built on qpAdm, the same formal admixture-modelling framework used by ancient-DNA labs at Harvard, the Max Planck Institute, and the Reich Lab to publish peer-reviewed population-genetics papers. Unlike cluster-based tools that pick a fixed K and force the data to fit, qpAdm tests whether a candidate model is compatible with the data — and reports a p-value alongside every proportion.
That property — being able to reject a model rather than just shrug at it — is what lets us hand back results with calibrated confidence instead of marketing numbers.
What we don't compromise on
Reproducibility
Every model run on Ancestrify is reproducible from the input genotype + the published reference panel. We pin dataset versions and document the transformation pipeline.
Privacy
We never sell your genotype data. Authentication is handled by Auth0; analysis runs on isolated infrastructure with strict access controls.
Honest uncertainty
Every proportion ships with a standard error and the model's p-value. If your ancestry is too admixed for a clean three-source fit, we tell you that — instead of forcing a number.
