Who George Bähr was
George Bähr was the master architect of Dresden's Frauenkirche, the great domed church that defined the city's skyline for two centuries until its destruction in 1945 — and rose again, rebuilt stone by stone, in 2005. He was buried in the crypt of his own masterpiece. Genetic analysis helped identify his remains among the crypt burials so they could be reinterred in the reconstructed church.
